Surf City Music School’s beginner bass lessons are 1-on-1 weekly lessons held at our music studio that concentrates on a comprehensive understanding of the instrument. Here are some of the things you will learn to do:

Justin Reed
Bass Instructor
Justin has been playing guitar, bass, drums, and piano for over 15 years. He has a Bachelor’s of Music with an emphasis in Jazz Studies from Vanguard University in Southern California.
Justin has played at venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City and Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa California. He has been teaching music lessons for 5 years and continues to teach Bass, Guitar and Drum lessons throughout Orange County.

Learning your new singing skills is one thing, but being able to apply them and perform for an audience can enhance your musical confidence. We host recitals/concerts up to 4 times a year for our students to perform in.
Students are able to show off their hard work from the past few months and socialize with other students in the program. They are completely free of charge and we invite all friends and family to come.

How do I get started?
The easiest way to get started with lessons is to sign up here. We will be in contact as soon as possible to find a time that works for you to come in for your first lesson.
How long is each lesson?
Lessons are either 30-minutes or 60-minutes. For young students we suggest two 30-minute lessons a week and for older students we suggest one 60-minute lesson a week.
Who are your instructors/teachers?
Our instructors are Conservatory-trained performing musicians and educators. Not only do they have experience teaching students of all ages, they have experience performing in orchestras, rock bands, church worship groups and more.

How do I pay for lessons?
We want payment to be as easy as possible for you. We can accept PayPal, check, cash, or credit card. When you sign up we will ask what option works best for you and will give more information on how to make the monthly payments.
