About Us.
Surf City Music School is a family-owned and operated studio in Huntington Beach, CA. We strive to build a community of young musicians enthusiastic about learning and performing music by giving personalized, fun, and engaging lessons.
We now teach piano, guitar, voice, drums, bass, ukulele, percussion, violin, and even musical theater classes. Our students have the chance to interact with other young musicians and also get to perform their new music skills at recitals we host multiple times a year.
Our goal is to shape well-rounded musicians, whether you are 6 or 60. In every student, music can have an impact on your brain, including enhanced creativity and cognitive thinking.
What We Believe In
We believe that music has a great role to play in the next generation of kids. Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together.
Conservatory Trained.
All of our instructors are conservatory-trained musicians. This means that they performed with top ensembles and groups at a nationally recognized Musical Performing Arts School.
They also have extensive teaching experience working with students of all ages. All instructors at Surf City music school go through background checks.
Most importantly, our founders have a strong connection to music education in general in Orange County. Multiple instructors taught music and piano classes in the Huntington Beach City School District. They taught at Smith Elementary School, Perry Elementary School, as well as Huntington Beach High School.
